Reducing Waste:
It’s disheartening to see so many avocados go to waste due to rapid ripening. This means the accelerated process by which avocados reach their mature, ready-to-eat stage in a shorter time period than their natural ripening cycle due to artificial chemicals and gases. To combat this issue, we optimise our process to minimise waste. By carefully managing our inventory and production, ensuring that all of our avocados are used efficiently, and only picked when naturally ripened leaving less room for waste.
Conscious Consumption:
We are acutely aware of the significant amount of avocados wasted in the UK each year. By sourcing, processing and freezing our avocados from South America, and leaving behind the skin and stone in the country of origin, we help reduce unnecessary transportation and contribute to a more sustainable supply chain.

Environmental Responsibility:
Avocados are grown in orchards under the warm sun of South America, avoiding the need for energy-intensive heated greenhouses. Being cultivated in their natural environment also means avocados follow their seasonal growth cycles. As we move from Mexico to Colombia with the changing seasons, the avocados reach perfect maturity, ensuring they are of the highest quality when used to make our dips.
Historical and Indigenous Heritage:
Avocados have a remarkable history in South America, where they have been cultivated and enjoyed by communities for around 8,000 years. This rich heritage makes South America an ideal place for avocado growing, as it is deeply rooted in the region’s traditions and flourishing in its natural ecosystem.
Quality and Taste:
While we’ve explored the idea of producing our dips closer to home, we discovered that there is no substitute for the taste and quality of avocados grown at source in South America. Avocados shipped over a long distance can be up to 5-8 weeks old by the time they reach their destination, negatively impacting their flavour. By sourcing from South America and freezing at source, we can offer our customers the most delightful and delicious Guacamole and Smashed Avocado.
Reduced Waste and Environmental Impact:
Our commitment to sustainability extends to reducing waste and minimising our carbon footprint. Sourcing from South America and utilising 100% recyclable sleeves and packaging allows us to transport our products more efficiently and more sustainably. Additionally, we only ever ship or truck our products from origin to the UK, we never airfreight our products. We never transport the skin and stone of our avocado products, we only transport the edible parts of the fruit, thus reducing our carbon output.
